Virtual Better Bones and Balance class with Janet Hall

About the Class
​
Join us for Better Bones & Balance®, an evidence-based exercise program developed by Oregon State University to improve strength and balance through five key exercises. In our virtual class, we will focus on these five key movements, as well as upper body strength and overall coordination.

Class Format
Classes will begin with a warm up, continue through a series of balance and strength exercises, and finish with stretching/flexibility work. Each respective week will repeat a similar group of exercises, in order to develop muscle memory and adequate volume of exercise for building strength and coordination. Foundational movements include squats, lunge variations, and stepping sequences.

Equipment needed:
  • A wall surface for wall sits and other wall-based moves.
  • A chair or counter, as needed for balance or support.
  • Optional: resistance bands and/or hand weights (full water bottles, canned vegetables, etc.)
